Architect in Residence
Inspired by the master
For the last 2 years Tomkinson Group has had the privilege of collaborating with Architect in residence, Dennis Carter LFRAIA. Dennis is a senior architect, with over 40 years’ experience as a principal of small to medium, design-based and award winning Architecture practices. Dennis is a Life Fellow of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and a present AIA Senior Counsellor.
Tomkinson Group established a professional association with Dennis in 2015 to further our mutual interest in bringing quality design to the urban development process. With Dennis’ expert input, we have improved the range of development options we can offer to clients, with a focus on urban design integrity.
A key output from this association has been the production of The Pattern Book – a dynamic document showcasing concept plans and theories behind medium density housing. Our aim has been for developers and clients to be exposed to, and hopefully inspired by, innovative design principles to improve and add value to medium density projects. The Pattern Book incorporates visual examples of well-designed developments, and offers some ‘designs for thought’ as a vision for your next project.
At present The Pattern Book is in the process of being refined for use in each of our offices, and we expect to have it available by the end of August.
Tomkinson Group wishes to thank Dennis Carter for his input and creativity throughout our two year professional association, and we look forward to collaborating on many projects into the future!
