Andrea Tomkinson

Managing Director
Andrea succeeded Paul Tomkinson as Executive Director of Tomkinson in 2014 and, alongside her co-director and a strong management team, she is focussed on regeneration and growth for the company into the future. Andrea also provides strategic and statutory planning advice across the company for a range of projects. She is Chair of the Urban Development Institute’s (UDIA Vic) Northern Chapter and is a Member of Regional Development Australia’s Loddon Mallee Committee.

John Guise

Managing Director

John joined Tomkinson in 2011. He brings a wealth of experience to our project management ranks, as well as insightful local knowledge of the G21 Regional Alliance areas. Prior to joining Tomkinson, John spent six years as a senior construction project engineer with Leighton Contractors/Baulderstone Hornibrook, where he managed numerous successful road and drainage construction projects. He experience also includes stints as a construction manager for NGO Lagos in Nigeria and a construction services engineer with Invensys Operations Management in Texas.

Vish Shah

Business Support (Commercial Services Manager)
Vish is a CPA (BCom, MBA) with over 20 years of experience. He is a strategic thinker and has held various senior finance roles. More recently Vish has been consulting at health food, real estate, and animal health companies, and managing various property and land development projects. Vish has vast experience in providing strong financial, commercial, & operational services in various industries and strives to grow the business & improve profitability.

Peter Gall

Operations Manager/ Regional Manager
Peter joined Tomkinson in 2020 as Regional Manager of the North-East branch in Wangaratta. Peter has a broad range of experience in local government and private industry including the planning, concept, design, development, tender documentation, and construction phases. He brings with him over 40 years of experience in the industry and a robust common sense-approach to difficult projects. Peter recently assumed the position of Operations Manager in 2022.

Matthew Elliot

Engineering and Project Management (Regional Manager)
Matt joined Tomkinson in 2003 and was thereafter promoted Central Victoria Regional Manager based in Bendigo. Matt’s prior experience includes stints as a design engineer and consultant in Sydney and Melbourne. From concept to completion, Matt brings a wealth of experience in many aspects of land development, engineering, and project management. Matt prides himself on providing honest, practical, realistic advice and of course seeing the returning repeat clients.

Stephen Hopper

Engineering and Project Management (Regional Manager – Urban)
Stephen joined Tomkinson in 2016 bringing 40 years of experience in land development, project, and construction management with him. Stephen has been responsible for civil engineering and project management for a range of civil projects including the planning, concept, design, development, tender documentation, and construction phases. Stephen’s understanding of both the public and private sectors provides an integrated perspective on land development initiatives.

Richard South

Surveying and Project Management (Regional Manager)
Richard has over 15 years of industry experience. Joining Tomkinson as a Graduate Surveyor in 2011, he then worked internationally from 2012, returned to Tomkinson in 2015 and commenced a management position in 2021. Becoming Licensed in 2023, Richard is using his experience and knowledge to aid business operations and to work effectively with clients and various stakeholders to get the best outcomes on complex survey and land development projects.

Akul Singh

Engineering and Project Management (Project Engineer)
Since joining Tomkinson in 2022, Akul has been a valuable member of the Tomkinson team. He is a Project Engineer, having worked as a civil engineer after completing both his Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Master of Management for Engineers, and now continues to use his knowledge and skillset to provide high quality engineering work with Tomkinson.

Alex Reid

Engineering and Project Management (Engineering Manager – Regional)
Alex has more than 11 years of experience working in civil infrastructure, residential and industrial land development sector. Joining Tomkinson in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) at La Trobe University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and works as an Engineering Manager in Bendigo, utilizing his experience to work on, coordinate and deliver multi-disciplinary projects throughout Victoria.

Bran Djukic

Engineering and Project Management (Senior Project Manager)
Bran joined Tomkinson in with over 20 years of experience in the civil engineering and land development industries, both as a consultant and civil contractor. He has helped deliver numerous residential and industrial subdivision and associated infrastructure projects with his extensive knowledge and understanding of industry and authority regulations, that have allowed him to employ a collaborative approach to deliver projects that have exceeded stakeholder expectations.

Brody Brown

Engineering and Project Management (Graduate Engineer)
Brody has recently completed his final year of study of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at La Trobe University and commenced full-time work as an engineer with Tomkinson in 2022 after having been with the team since early 2021. He prides himself on delivering high quality projects in a timely manner.

Cameron Hayes

Planning (Planning Team Co-Ordinator)
Cameron joined Tomkinson in 2021. He has worked in the Local Government Sector for over 15 years and has extensive experience in coastal and regional planning issues. Having worked in Local Government, Cameron is able provide significant advocacy to clients, removing potential and perceived barriers associated with town planning. Cameron gained a GradDip in Community Planning & Development from La Trobe. He is also responsible for coordinating Tomkinson’s planning team.

Chris Franks

Surveying (Principal LS / Survey Manager)
Chris has over 30 years of consulting experience, managing a wide variety of survey responses to project requirements. Regardless of the project size or complexity, Chris creates timely and effective solutions to manage all eventualities. He consistently works in collaboration with clients and professional partners to provide sound advice and guidance to project completion.

Christina Katela

Engineering and Project Management (Design Engineer)
Christina is a broadly skilled Engineer, with 20 years combined professional experience in civil engineering and Land Development space, both in Australia and abroad, working for both public and private sector in various capacities. She strives to focus on maintaining high standards and paying attention to detail and client satisfaction.

Harley Bond

Engineering and Project Management (Project Engineer)
Harley joined Tomkinson with 9 years of prior experience in 2021 and works as a Project Engineer and Manager in both the design and delivery phases of numerous projects and liaises. He works closely with clients and collaborators to provide expertise across a wide range of areas during subdivision construction. He is highly knowledgeable and passionate, having been involved in many projects, the diversity of such allowing him to be adaptable to specific project requirements.

Jack Maher

Engineering and Project Management (Project Engineer)

Jack has worked as a student engineer for Tomkinson since 2016. Since then, he has completed a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at La Trobe University and commenced as a full-time Project Engineer in 2019. He now currently works in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure, from initial design to project completion, valuing comprehensive collaboration and detailed communication.

Jagraj Benipal

Engineering and Project Management (Project Engineer)
Jagraj is a Civil Engineer working in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure. Jagraj joined Tomkinson in December 2019 after graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from La Trobe University. He has continued to undertake engineering projects for clients in both the private and public sectors with transparency, consistency, and efficiency.

Jason Parker

Surveying (Licenced Surveyor)
Jason has over 30 years professional experience in all disciplines of land surveying, ranging from engineering set-out to major land subdivision projects. He has continued to undertake and manage surveying projects at Tomkinson for clients in both the private and public sectors in both Torquay and Bendigo. Jason liaises with clients and manages survey projects and staff to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

John Beveridge

Engineering and Project Management (Senior Engineer)
John joined Tomkinson in 2023 with 30+ years of experience as a land development engineer, specialising in design and documentation of roads, drains, sewer and water services for small to large scale residential and industrial developments. He has a detailed understanding of relevant standards, codes and design guidelines and has well-established relationships with local authority personnel. John is a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria and is a member of the Institute of Engineers, Australia.

Karen Shellnack

Business Support (Administration Officer)
Karen joined Tomkinson November 2018 as administration officer of the Westmeadows office. Karen is responsible for all Reception and Administration support at this office, as well as taking on company payroll responsibilities, working closely with the finance department for all related duties. Her wide variety of skills have become a valuable asset to our growing team.

Katie Xiao

Planning (Manager Planning Projects & Business Development)
Katie has over 20 years of experience in both urban and regional planning, and diverse planning roles across VIC, NSW, and the Pacific. Technical knowledge and multidisciplinary expertise allow Katie to manage teams and take a balanced and open-minded approach to planning advice and strategies for clients and councils alike. Katie prides herself on the positive changes she creates through her work and ensuring that clients can benefit from her advice and decision making.

Ken Hargrave

Surveying (Senior Surveyor)
Ken has 40 years of experience as a contract construction surveyor and consulting Land surveyor with Tomkinson. Along with his Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT, Ken’s experience with all manner of survey types and purposes gives him an excellent point of over-view for all our projects.

Matt Lucas

Engineering and Project Management (Project Manager)
Matt joined Tomkinson’s Wangaratta office in 2021 as a Project Manager with over 17 years of experience managing many successful infrastructure projects around Australia. At Tomkinson, Matt manages projects through the design, construction, and compliance stages to completion, and is able to utilise his vast and extensive knowledge to complete projects and work towards successful outcomes.

Matt Suwart

Matt has recently joined Tomkinson and comes to us after working in a variety of companies over his 19-year career in surveying. Since graduating from the UTAS he worked for 7 years in Hobart, including a stint with Lark and Creese Surveying and the Hobart City Council. Matt then he moved to Vic/NSW to work in Albury/Wodonga, and then Horsham for 7 years before joining us at Tomkinson.

Michael Kelly

Surveying (Surveyor)
Michael began his studies in 2013, aiming to be exposed to all aspects of the industry. He has since been involved in bridge and rail construction projects, assisting in the development of GMHBA stadium upgrade and building headquarters in Geelong. He also has significant experience in civil construction, being involved in developing several residential estates. In 2021, Michael brought the valuable knowledge he has obtained through various survey practices to Tomkinson.

Michael Kirk

Engineering and Project Management (Graduate Engineer)
Michael has recently completed his Bachelor of Engineering and currently working as a Graduate Engineer at the Westmeadows office. He has joined Tomkinson with over 10 years of on-site experience in the construction industry. He is ambitious, striving to become an excellent design engineer and is eager to make positive contributions to Tomkinson.

Michael McVicar

Engineering and Project Management (Engineering Manager – Urban)
Joining Tomkinson in 2020, Michael brings with him over 16 years of design experience in the Civil Engineering industry, predominantly within the Land Development and Road Infrastructure sectors. Michael’s goal is to further develop his team’s capabilities and experience and continue striving for that next level. With a strong focus on client expectations and communication, plus an eye for producing a high-quality product, Michael is a valued member of the Tomkinson team.

Nathan Bawden

Engineering and Project Management (Principal Design Engineer)
Nathan has been with Tomkinson since 1998. He specialises in the detailed design of large-scale projects through all phases of development. With over 18 years in the professional design field and experience managing municipal and land subdivision projects and their associated infrastructure, Nathan is committed to maintaining strong working relationships with clients and referral authorities to achieve high quality principal design outcomes.

Nerida Aisbett

Business Support (Administration Officer)
Nerida joined Tomkinson in 2021 and became a full-time employee at the beginning of 2022. Nerida brings with her many years of experience in administration after a 12-year break to study and work in the IT industry. She now works in administration at the Bendigo office, providing friendly and helpful support to clients, collaborators, and staff.

Nick Pisalidis

Nick is a broadly skilled project and civil engineer with a proven track record in delivering complex and significant capital civil works through to specialist project engineering services across civil, commercial, and private residential. He joined Tomkinson in 2018, and brings extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.

Nyomi Peake

Business Support (Administration Officer)

Nyomi joined Tomkinson in 2018 as the first point of contact for the Wangaratta Office. With over 27 years of experience in the industry, Nyomi is responsible for providing reception and administrative support for clients and staff alike. Her wide variety of skills and knowledge come highly regarded and she is an important part of the Tomkinson team.

Pat Walpole

Surveying (Survey Co-ordinator Surf Coast/Urban)
Began working in the Surveying industry in 2007, before graduating from RMIT with a Bachelor’s in Applied Science (Surveying) in 2009. Since then, have worked primarily in the land development industry working on infill and estate subdivisions, in addition to experience in the public sector working for Barwon Water. I have lived and worked in the Geelong region since 2016 and achieved registration as a Licensed Surveyor in Victoria in 2020.

Patrick Leahy

Surveying (Senior Draftsperson)
Pat began at Tomkinson in 1998 as a Surveying Technician, then moving into the Senior Draftsperson role. Pat had previously worked as a Surveying Technician throughout regional Victoria, providing him with an extensive background and wide range of experience. Pat has worked on many key projects with Tomkinson, such as large-scale subdivisions in the Bendigo region, the Bendigo Bank building, Bendigo Airport and Fortuna Villa.

Paul Hardie

Surveying (Surveyor)
Paul joined Tomkinson in 2021, after spending 10 years in the industry. He has worked as a surveyor since 2005 and graduated from RMIT in 2008, collaborating on large projects around Victoria, including surveys for the Melbourne Metro Rail Tunnel and the Inland Rail project. Since moving to Tomkinson, he has commenced his Professional Training Agreement and is on his way to becoming a Licensed Surveyor, currently working on new estates.

Praveen Weerasiri

Engineering and Project Management (Student Engineer)
Praveen joined Tomkinson in 2022 as a part of La Trobe University’s Work Integrated Learning Program. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours), while working as a Student Engineer, with the goals of delivering work at a high standard, improving in all areas, and gaining valuable experience.

Rachael Quick

Engineering and Project Management (Project Engineer)
Rachael joined Tomkinson in 2014 after graduating with a double degree in Civil Engineering and Commerce and has since taken on many different roles within the company. After initially joining the Torquay team as an Administration Officer, Rachael added project management and engineering tasks to her skill set and is currently working as a civil engineer in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects, and associated infrastructure.

Rajith Dias

Engineering and Project Management (Senior Draftsperson)
Rajith joined Tomkinson in 2022 after 6 years of experience as a Civil and Survey Draftsman in Melbourne and is now in a Senior Draftsman position. He primarily works collaboratively with design and project engineers to draft proposed development project plans for approval form councils. He has completed his Diploma of Civil engineering at Melbourne Polytechnic and has vast experience in CAD drafting for a range of plan types.

Sam Hockly

Planning (Urban & Regional Planner)
Sam joined Tomkinson in 2021 and has worked in both the public and private sector as a town planner across a variety of Victorian planning schemes. Sam has experience in both statutory and strategic planning for numerous regional councils and as a private consultant for Tomkinson. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography, a Graduate Diploma in Community Planning & Development and is currently completing his master’s thesis in the same field.

Sam Maher

Engineering and Project Management (Graduate Engineer)
Sam joined Tomkinson in early 2019 as a student engineer. He has since graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from La Trobe University and started full-time with Tomkinson in 2021. Sam is a civil engineer currently working in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure. Sam prides himself on his communication and transparency and is always striving to reach the best outcome for our clients.

Sebastian Andrea-Ross

Engineering and Project Management (Student Engineer)
Sebastian joined Tomkinson in 2022 as a Student Engineer while completing his Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at La Trobe University. He collaborates with fellow engineers on drafting and project management tasks for a wide range of land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure, priding himself on his consistency and attention to detail.

Shania Allen

Business Support (Administration Officer)

Shania joined Tomkinson in October 2019, while undergoing a Certificate III in Business Administration. Shania provides friendly assistance for clients in our Torquay office and offers administrative support to staff.

Shubham Rana

Engineering and Project Management (Student Engineer)
Shubham joined Tomkinson in 2022, then took on work-integrated-learning as a 4th year student engineer shortly after. He is currently studying at La Trobe University and undergoing a student engineer role, able to utilize his diverse skillset to assist in drafting various projects and maintain a high-quality body of work.

Stephen Dinnematin

Engineering and Project Management (Senior Project Manager)
Stephen is a Projects Portfolio Manager and Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years of experience delivering projects within the civil engineering industry, which has included strategic and civil projects as well as commercial, industrial, and residential land development projects. At Tomkinson, he works as a Senior Project Manager, using his comprehensive knowledge to deliver land development projects and associated infrastructure.

Tannen Becke

Surveying (Surveyor)
Tannen Becke joined Tomkinson in 2022 after completing his Diploma of Surveying in 2020 and is currently looking to develop his skills further into the field of Surveying. He is dedicated to seeking innovative solutions for clients through collaboration and communication, as well as contributing his knowledge and skills towards surveying projects in Westmeadows and wider Victoria.

Thomas Foudoulis

Business Support (Graduate Accountant)
Thomas joined Tomkinson in early 2022 as an accountant. Having recently completed his Bachelor of Accounting, he is now looking forward to furthering his studies. Thomas has a detailed knowledge of the wide range of technology that helps Tomkinson to grow and has been working on integrating new project management software while also assisting in producing the company’s Financial Documents and Reports.

Tim Croft

Surveying (Senior Survey Technician)
Tim began working with the Tomkinson in 1998. Prior to his commencement, he spent a year in the UK on a study tour after the completion of his Engineering Survey Associate Certificate from Bendigo TAFE. Tim has worked on many key projects for Tomkinson, including Bendigo Bank, Bendigo Marketplace and large subdivisions for Villawood in Bendigo and Moama, undertaking cadastral and feature surveys, always striving to produce high quality outcomes to satisfy clients.

Tracey Simmons

Planning (Principal Planner)
Tracey’s Masters First Class Honours of Planning from RMIT and diverse range of experience, having worked in Local Governments including Surf Coast, Golden Plains and Mornington, offer a wealth of experience, knowledge, and networking. Her planning and own life experiences in rural farming owning and managing commercial and industrial businesses gives her a broad yet in-depth understanding of various projects and ability to achieve the best outcomes in a timely manner.

Zac Dingwall

Engineering and Project Management (Student Engineer)
Zac started at Tomkinson in 2022 while studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at La Trobe University. He is now working as a student civil engineer around his study commitments, gaining experience and developing industry-specific skills. He takes pride in his detail oriented and comprehensive work, aiming to best reflect client requests.
