Andrea Tomkinson

Managing Director
Andrea provides strategic and statutory planning for urban and regional projects ranging from re-zoning to estate development, and density infill. Prior to joining Tomkinson Group in 2007, she spent several years working on socio-economic projects in Bangkok and Canberra. Andrea succeeded Paul Tomkinson as Executive Director of Tomkinson Group in 2014 and is now focussed on regeneration for the company.

John Guise

Managing Director / Regional Manager – Surf Coast
John joined Tomkinson Group in 2011. He brings a wealth of experience to our project management ranks, as well as insightful local knowledge of the G21 Regional Alliance areas. Prior to joining Tomkinson Group, John spent six years as a senior construction project engineer with Leighton Contractors/Baulderstone Hornibrook, where he managed numerous successful road and drainage construction projects. He experience also includes stints as a construction manager for NGO Lagos in Nigeria and a construction services engineer with Invensys Operations Management in Texas.

Vish Shah

Commercial Services Manager
Vish Shah is a CPA (BCom, MBA) with 20+ years of experience. He is a strategic thinker and has held various senior finance roles in many organisations. More recently Vish was consulting at Chia Company Pty Ltd & Long View Real estate Pty Ltd. Also as managing various Property & Land Development projects. Vish has vast experience in providing strong financial, commercial, & operational services in various industries and strives to grow the business & improve profitability.

Peter Gall

Regional Manager – North East
Peter joined Tomkinson in October 2020 as our Regional Manager North East based in Wangaratta. Peter has a broad range of experience in local government and private industry including the planning, concept, design, development, tender documentation and construction phases. He has also been involved with major capital works program development and management within local government, project delivery, community engagement and strategic program development.

Matt Elliot

Regional Manager – Central
Matt joined Tomkinson Group in 2003 and was shortly thereafter promoted to the position of Engineering Manager. Matt’s prior experience includes stints as a design engineer with Warren Smith & Partners, ARUP and as a project engineer with Serco-Coliban Water. He brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of civil engineering and project management.

Stephen Hopper

Regional Manager – Urban
Stephen joined Tomkinson Group in 2016 bringing 40 years of experience in land development, project and construction management with him. Stephen has been responsible for civil engineering and project management for a range of civil projects including the planning, concept, design, development, tender documentation and construction phases. He has also been involved with the servicing and costings for major land projects including the East Werribee PSP tender for the MAB Group, and project and construction management for such subdivision as Mill Park Estate (5000 lot subdivision) and Westmeadows Lane (2000 lot subdivision). Stephen’s understanding of both the public and private sectors provides an integrated perspective on land development initiatives.

Richard South

Regional Manager – Surfcoast
Richard is a local Torquay Graduate Surveyor, who has been working within the industry for 8 years. Initially joining Tomkinson Group in the Torquay Office as a Graduate Surveyor and Team Leader in 2011, Richard set off to explore the world in 2012, maintaining work within the industry and gaining invaluable international experience, and was welcomed back to the Torquay office in 2015 and is currently working towards becoming a Licensed Surveyor.

Ahmet Polat

Principal Planner
Ben is currently in his final year of study of a Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental Planning at LaTrobe University, Bendigo. Before making the career move into Planning, Ben also completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts – Graphic Design and has been working in graphic design for many years. He was employed at Tomkinson Group in early 2017 where he has been able to enhance existing and develop new knowledge of planning policy and its application in Victoria.

Alex Reid

Engineering Manager – Central
Alex has more than 11 years of experience working in civil infrastructure, residential and industrial land development sector. Joining Tomkinson in 2011 after completing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) at La Trobe University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and works as an Engineering Manager, utilising his experience to work on, coordinate and deliver multi-disciplinary projects throughout Victoria.

Ben Yates

Senior Urban & Regional Planner
Ben is currently in his final year of study of a Bachelor of Urban, Rural and Environmental Planning at LaTrobe University, Bendigo. Before making the career move into Planning, Ben also completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts – Graphic Design and has been working in graphic design for many years. He was employed at Tomkinson Group in early 2017 where he has been able to enhance existing and develop new knowledge of planning policy and its application in Victoria.

Bran Djukic

Senior Project Manager
Bran has over 20 years’ experience in the civil engineering field working as both an engineering consultant and civil contractor. Throughout his career, Bran has helped to deliver numerous small to large-scale residential and industrial subdivision and associated infrastructure projects. These have included medium-density developments, road reconstructions & signalisation, major Melbourne Water assets, Water Authority branch sewers and large water mains. Bran has an extensive knowledge of the civil engineering industry and an excellent understanding of authority regulations. He’s regularly used these to employ a collaborative approach to efficiently deliver projects that have exceeded client’s expectations.

Brody Brown

Student Engineer
Brody is currently in his final year of study of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree from La Trobe University and works for Tomkinson around his study commitments.

Cameron Hayes

Planning Team Coordinator
Cameron joined Tomkinson in 2021. Previously, he worked in the Local Government Sector for over 15 yrs and has extensive experience in coastal & regional planning issues. Having worked in Local Government Cameron is able provide significant advocacy to clients, removing potential & perceived barriers associated with town planning. Cameron gained a GradDip in Community Planning & Development from La Trobe Uni. He is also responsible for coordinating Tomkinson’s planning team.

Chris Franks

Principal Licensed Surveyor / Survey Manager
Chris has over 30 years consulting experience, managing a wide variety of survey responses to project requirements. From a boundary fence dispute to a 1000 lot subdivisional estate the requirements are always the same, timely, effective solutions to every situation encountered and that is what makes Chris tick. Tomkinson surveyors can look at every survey aspect of your project and advise, while meshing in with any and all of your professional partners to completion.

Harley Bond

Project Engineer
Harley joined Tomkinson with 9 years of prior experience in 2021 and works as a Project Engineer and Manager in both the design and delivery phases of numerous projects and liaises. He works closely with clients and collaborators to provide expertise across a wide range of areas during subdivision construction. He is highly knowledgeable and passionate, having been involved in many projects, the diversity of such allowing him to be adaptable to specific project requirements.

Jack Maher

Project Engineer
Jack has worked as a student engineer for Tomkinson Group since November 2018. Since then, he has completed the WIL program with Tomkinson Group and has completed studies at La Trobe University in Bendigo graduating with Honours. Jack commenced full time with Tomkinson Group in December 2019 and now currently works in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure.

Jagraj Benipal

Graduate Engineer
Jagraj is a Civil Engineer working in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure. Jagraj commenced full-time employment with Tomkinson Group in December 2019 after graduating with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) from La Trobe University in Bendigo. Jagraj has continued to undertake engineering projects for clients in both the private and public sectors.

Jason Parker

Licenced Surveyor
Jason has over 30 years professional experience in all disciplines of land surveying, ranging from engineering setout to major land subdivision projects. Jason has continued to undertake and manage surveying projects for clients in both the private and public sectors at our Torquay and Bendigo offices. In this role Jason liaises with clients and manages survey projects and staff to ensure projects are completed efficiently and accurately.

Karen Shellnack

Administration Officer
Karen joined Tomkinson November 2018 as our front of office person at the Westmeadows office. Karen is responsible for all Reception and Administration support at this office, she is also our company Payroll officer, working closely with the Finance area for all related duties. Her variety of skills as become an asset to our growing team.

Katerina Meta

Project Engineer
Katerina joined Tomkinson Group in March 2020. She has over 4 years professional experience in Land Development as a designer working in a range of projects across Victoria. Her main focus is to deliver efficient, high standard projects within timeframe meeting clients’ expectations. Katerina is looking forward to improving and developing her skills working with Senior Engineers at Tomkinson.

Katie Xiao

Major Projects
Katie has over 20 years of experience in both urban & regional planning, and diverse planning roles across VIC, NSW, & the Pacific. Technical knowledge and multidisciplinary expertise allow Katie to manage teams & take a balanced and open-minded approach to planning advice and strategies for clients and councils alike. Katie prides herself on the positive changes she creates through her work and ensuring that clients can benefit from her advice and decision making.

Ken Hargrave

Senior Surveyor
Ken has nearly 20 years’ experience as a contract construction surveyor on major projects in both Victoria and New South Wales. With a Bachelor of Applied Science (RMIT), Ken’s experience covers GPS, whole farm surveys for irrigation, rural and urban cadastral subdivision and feature surveys. Ken has worked on a broad range of significant projects at Tomkinson Group and is relied upon for experience, broad knowledge and dependable accuracy.

Matt Lucas

Project Manager
Matt joined Tomkinson in Wangaratta office in September 2021 as a Project Manager with over 17 years of experience in the construction industry managing numerous successful infrastructure projects around Australia. At Tomkinson Matt manages projects through the design, construction, and compliance stages to completion including water, sewer, road, drainage and any other authorities required for subdivisions and infrastructure projects.

Michael Kelly

Surveyor
Began studies in 2013 with the drive to become exposed to most survey industries. This led to the involvement in projects for bridge and rail construction assisting in the development of GMHBA stadium upgrade and GMHBA building headquarters in Geelong, eventually moving into civil construction and being a key player in the development of a number of residential estates. Michael has brought the knowledge he has obtained through various survey practices to Tomkinson.

Michael Kirk

Student Engineer
Michael is currently a student and in his final semester of his Bachelor of Civil Engineering at LaTrobe University and currently completing his 6 month Work Integrated Learning placement time with Tomkinson Group. He has come from a background in the construction industry with over 10 years of experience in this field. Michael is ambitious and strives to become an excellent design engineer and is eager to make positive contributions to Tomkinson.

Michael McVicar

Engineering Manager – Urban
Joining Tomkinson in 2020, Michael brings with him over 13 years of design experience in the Civil Engineering industry, predominantly within the Land Development and Road Infrastructure sectors. Michaels goal is to further develop his team’s capabilities and experience and continue striving for that next level. With a strong focus on client expectations and communication, plus an eye for producing a high-quality end product, Michael is a welcome addition to the team.

Nathan Bawden

Principal Design Engineer
Nathan has been with Tomkinson Group since 1998. He specialises in the detailed design of large-scale projects through all phases of development. With over 18 years in the professional design field and experience managing municipal and land subdivision projects and their associated infrastructure, Nathan is committed to maintaining strong working relationships with clients and referral authorities to achieve high quality principal design outcomes.

Nerida Aisbett

Administration Officer
Nerida Joined Tomkinson in November 2021 as a temp but became a full-time employee at the end of January 2022. Nerida brings with her many years of experience in Administration. Although she had a break for about 12 years when she studied for and then worked in the IT industry. After finding she needed a break from IT she decided to return to her first love of administration.

Nick Pisalidis

Project Manager
Nick is a broadly skilled project and civil engineer with a proven track record in delivering complex and significant capital civil works through to specialist project engineering services across civil, commercial and private residential. He has joined Tomkinson Group in August 2018 bringing extensive knowledge of engineering concepts, practices and procedures.

Nyomi Peake

Administration Officer
Nyomi joined Tomkinson Group in September 2018 as the first point of contact for our Wangaratta Office. With 23 years experience in the industry, Nyomi is responsible for providing reception and administrative support within the Wangaratta Office. Her wide variety of skills and knowledge come highly regarded and she is already proving to be an important part of our growing team.

Patrick Leahy

Senior Draftsperson
Pat began at Tomkinson Group in the late 90’s beginning as a Surveying Technician moving into the Senior Draftperson role. Prior to that Pat worked as a Surveying Technician with TGM in Ballarat, Singletons in Bendigo, and Rogans in Gisborne providing Pat with an extensive background and range of experience. Pat has worked on key projects such as Bendigo Bank building, large scale subdivisions in the Bendigo region, Bendigo Airport and Fortuna Villa.

Paul Hardie

Surveyor
Paul joined Tomkinson in 2021, after spending 10 years at his previous company. He has worked as a surveyor since 2005 and graduated from RMIT in 2008. He has worked on large projects around Victoria, including surveys for the Melbourne Metro Rail Tunnel and the Inland Rail project. Since moving to Tomkinson, he has commenced his Professional Training Agreement and is on his way to becoming a Licensed Surveyor, currently working on new estates.

Praveen Weerasiri

Student Engineer
Praveen joined Tomkinson at the beginning of 2022 as a part of La Trobe University’s Work Integrated Learning Program. He is currently completing his Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree at La Trobe University in Bundoora, while onboard with the team as a Student Engineer, with a main goal of delivering work at a high standard while improving in all areas and gaining valuable experience.

Rachael Quick

Project Engineer
Rachael graduated with a double degree in Civil Engineering and Commerce in 2014, and has worn many different hats within Tomkinson Group. After initially joining the Torquay team as an Administration Officer, Rachael quickly added project management and engineering tasks to her skill set. Rachael has continued to expand her interests and is now successfully balancing a diverse and demanding range of skills.

Rajith Dias

Senior Draftsperson
Rajith joined Tomkinson Group in 2022 after 6 years of experience as a Civil and Survey Draftsman in Melbourne and is now in a Senior Draftsman position. He primarily works with design and project engineers to draft proposed development project plans for approval form councils. He has completed his Diploma of Civil engineering at Melbourne Polytechnic and has vast experience in CAD drafting for a range of plan types.

Sam Hockly

Urban & Regional Planner
Sam joined Tomkinson in 2021 and has worked in both the public and private sector as a town planner across a variety of Victorian planning schemes. Sam has experience in both statutory and strategic planning for numerous regional councils and as a private consultant for Tomkinson. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography, a Graduate Diploma in Community Planning and Development and is currently completing his master’s thesis in the same field.

Sam Maher

Graduate Engineer
Sam joined Tomkinson in early 2019 as a student engineer. He has since graduated with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree from LaTrobe University in Bendigo and commenced full time employment with Tomkinson in late 2021. Sam is a civil engineer currently working in the design and project management field of municipal and land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure.

Sebastian Andrea-Ross

Student Engineer
Sebastian joined Tomkinson Group in 2022 as a Student Engineer while completing his Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) degree from La Trobe University, Bendigo. He currently assists the other engineers with drafting tasks for a wide range of land subdivision projects and associated infrastructure.

Shania Allen

Administration Officer
Shania joined Tomkinson Group in October 2019 after completing her VCE studies in 2017. Shania also completed some Higher Tertiary education in 2018. Shania is the first point of contact for clients in our Torquay office and welcomes everyone with a friendly face. Shania offers administrative support to staff, while also undergoing study for a Certificate III in Business Administration.

Shubham Rana

Student Engineer
Shubham joined Tomkinson in 2022, taking on work-integrated-learning as a 4th year student engineer. He is currently working towards a degree at La Trobe University and undergoing a student engineer role, able to utilize his diverse skillset to assist in drafting various projects.

Stephen Dinnematin

Senior Project Manager
Stephen is a Projects Portfolio Manager and Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience delivering projects within the civil engineering industry having served on the client side, consultant side and construction contractors side delivering strategic and civil projects as well as commercial, industrial and residential land development projects. At Tomkinson he currently works as a Senior Project Manager delivering land development projects with associated infrastructure and providing specialist project engineering services in the public utility sector.

Thomas Foudoulis

Graduate Accountant
Thomas is our Graduate Accountant that joined Tomkinson in early 2022. He has recently completed his Bachelor of Accounting Degree and is looking forward to furthering his studies towards a CA or CPA degree. Thomas has a great knowledge in Technology and has been helping us with integrating our new PM Software and is also assisting our CFO Vish Shah in producing the company’s Financial Documents and Reports.

Tim Croft

Senior Survey Technician
Tim began working with the Tomkinson Group in 1998. Prior to his commencement, he spent a year in the UK on a study tour after the completion of his Engineering Survey Associate Certificate from Bendigo TAFE. Tim has worked on some key projects for Tomkinson Group – Bendigo Bank, Bendigo Marketplace and large subdivisions for Villawood in Bendigo and Moama – undertaking cadastral and feature surveys.

Tracey Simmons

Principal Planner
Tracey has a diverse range of Statutory Planning experience, having worked for many years across Victoria and Queensland. Her planning knowledge, widespread connections and 20 years of experience have allowed her to excel in management scenarios. She received her Master’s in Planning with first class honours at RMIT before joining Tomkinson, and continually prides herself on her in-depth understanding of various projects and seeking the best outcomes in a timely manner.

Zac Dingwall

Student Engineer
Zac is currently studying a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Honours) at La Trobe University in Bendigo and works for the Tomkinson Group around his study commitments.
