Community Involvement
With the first shoots of Spring in the air this week, many of our clients and staff will be involved in finals of junior sporting competitions. We wish you all good luck and remind everyone of the Code of Behaviour that applies – this is kids’ sport and not the AFL, so a great opportunity for some healthy role modelling by us adults!
Among other events, the finals of the Bendigo Junior Football League are getting under way this week-end and patrons attending these games might see the Tomkinson Group name among the crowds – as part of our annual sponsorship budget, we sponsor the AFLCV Elite Football Academy and our name is plastered on the back of the hoodies worn by players (girls and boys) and officials to and from the games, as well as by the kids throughout the year on the streets of the various cities and towns across Central Victoria where they live and go to school.
Tomkinson Group’s sponsorship also provides the bulk of the Leagues apparel budget, covering items such as inter-league players’ jumpers, shorts and socks, as well as the caps and tee-shirts worn by League officials attending the games.
Our contribution allows the Academy to significantly reduce costs, passing on substantial savings to the players and their families, for which AFLCV Regional Operations Manager Norm Sheahan and his Board are very appreciative.
This is just one way we look to give back to the communities in which we operate – a business founded and based in Regional Victorian supporting local Victorians.

Meanwhile, another community activity coming up is the annual Around the Bay in a Day bike ride, on October 6th. This is Australia’s biggest one-day bike ride and since 1993, riders have raised more than $10 Million to help change the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children through education.
Apart from being a fundraiser for an excellent cause, there are a range of routes for riders, and with extensive road closures to motorised traffic, it’s the perfect time to see a lot of Melbourne’s iconic sites!
This year, staff and associates of Tomkinson Group have formed a team and will wear the very colourful Tomkinson-branded jerseys, so look out for us amongst the throng!
